Last week at the Southern Baptist Convention's annual meeting held this year in New Orleans, an overwhelming majority of its 12,700 delegates voted to confirm the expulsion of Lake Forest, California's Saddleback Church which is reportedly one of the largest congregations in America.
The church was booted from the SBC by its executive committee in February for having female pastors.
At last year's convention in Anaheim, motions were made to expel Saddleback which sits just a few miles from the venue in Orange County.
This year, there were five total churches expelled from the SBC. Two of them appealed - Saddleback and Fern Creek Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky.
The decision to expel them is based on the doctrine that the Holy Bible reserves the role of pastor for men, the Baptist Press reported.
The SBC is widely reported as the largest Protestant denomination in the United States. Some 47,000 independent churches and 13.7 million members comprise it.
The expulsions reflect the taking back of the church movement, if you will, orchestrated by faithful men and women who have grown tired of the woke and the LGTBQ agendas.
The pastor of Fern Creek, Linda Barnes Popham blamed power-hungry men for her church's expulsion.
"Whatever has happened in the last two years, I attribute to deeds done in darkness and power-hungry men, people who were trying to purify the Southern Baptist Convention to their standard of purity — which doesn't match biblical standards of purity," she said.
Popham's expressions of frustration are very similar to a common refrain among some modern and feminist-leaning women who have complained about not being accepted or respected in their Church leadership roles by men.
It is worth noting that all of the 12 disciples, 99.999 percent of the Judges, prophets and 100% of the angels in the Bible are men.
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions (Joel 2:8).
