Some Christians have the viewpoint that the single world government movement is actually doing the work for Jesus by fulfilling a prophesy described in the second chapter of the Holy Bible's Book of Daniel. The prophesy states that a world government encompassing many kingdoms and nations will rule over all the earth, subduing all things in the years and days just before Jesus returns. And that Jesus will do away with it completely while establishing His own everlasting kingdom:
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever (Daniel 2:44-King James Version).
In a broadcast featuring pastor Paul Begley posted on October 20, 2018, the late Irvin Baxter of End Times Ministries shared a lighthearted moment about how the Lord responded to one of Baxter’s prayers:
“Don’t you understand that when I (Jesus) come back to earth, I’m going to have a world government? I’m letting them (the New World Order) do all the work,” Baxter said. “They’re setting up a world government right now and as soon as they get it all ready, I show up. Thank you very much for my world government. Anti-Christ, False Prophet you go to the lake of fire. Satan go the bottomless pit.”
“He’s going to rule for 1,000 years. Wow!” Begley said to Baxter, referring to Jesus Christ's everlasting reign. The Book of Revelation prophesies that the kingdom of God will last for 1,000 years and into eternity (Revelation 20:4-6). Baxter was sharing the Biblical truth as described in Daniel 2, Revelation 11:15 and 13-22.
Daniel interpreted Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar's dream and described the image that Nebuchadnezzar had seen in the dream as representing four historical kingdoms that ruled like a single world government during their eras - including Babylon. Notice that because Babylon was a world government encompassing many other kings, kingdoms and nations during Nebuchadnezzar's reign, Daniel referred to him as a "king of kings" (an emperor's title bestowed on Jesus Christ in Rev. 5:5).
37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
