Every single day, the Lord rejuvenates His followers by providing us with the physical and spiritual food that makes humans resilient, breathing His life-giving Gospel, growing us stronger in faith, leading us to go-get, to overcome our fears.
He gives us daily rest from worry, without us becoming too accustomed to sleeping or slumbering. He increases our faith in Him by allowing us to hear the word of God.
He leads us to learn how to live one day at a time, by neither being boastful nor worried about tomorrow nor the future, realizing that He leads us through fires, without getting burned, when we may not have the gall to get active, get out on our own.
He wants us actively serving Him, passionately spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, standing up like restaurant waiters, not sitting down waiting on Him to fly from the sky to carry us away in a cloudy Rapture.
Because if you think about it, just sitting around waiting on God does not necessarily require a renewal of energy. When you're really active in the Lord, you need a refreshening because your cup runs over.
"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31)
The Lord is the bread of life, like manna from Heaven, he feeds his followers to the point that we will never, in faith, Lord willing, have to beg for bread or water.
"I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not hunger. He who believes in me will never thirst." (John 6:35)
The Lord motivates His believers to get up, stand strong, face the day, come what may. Whether beautiful for situation, or a fearful, anxious situation you have to overcome.
God provides daily sustenance, emotional strength, mental health, peace, joy and overall stability and absolute fire for his followers.
We receive His provisions by seeking the Kingdom of God first. How do you do that?
By putting God first in priority over and above all other things, including family.
Avoid all obstacles that can interfere with your relationship with God: substance abuse is a prime example.
Do everything in life with a Godly intention to glorify the Lord.
Take actions that line up with the lifestyle and moral standards the Lord instructs us to live.. In other words, live a life that is pleasing to Him.
Again, the Lord in His infinite wisdom strengthens us by teaching us to focus on the day, and not to worry about tomorrow.
"...Give us this day our daily bread..."
The world famous Lord's prayer honors Almighty God, asks for forgiveness, guidance and petitions the Lord for our daily provisions.
Most pastors and religious teachers focus mainly on the bread as food:
"Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or not." (Exodus 16:4)
Resilience is a key part of our daily bread, and our capacity for walking in the Lord's law.
RESILIENCE
Some of us also focus on resilience, as part of our daily bread, and not just food:
"I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not hunger. He who believes in me will never thirst." (John 6:35)
The word resilient is defined by the ability to recover quickly from events such as a change in your world, misfortune or setbacks.
Resilience is a cornerstone of the Christian world because the Lord renews our strength as part of our daily bread.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
Eagles are able to fly, at distance, without flapping their wings. They ride the wind.
Who made the wind? Didn't He do it? Didn't He?
The wind symbolizes the Holy Spirit. As Christians we ride with the Holy Spirit, like eagles ride the breeze.
When our backs are against the wall, he gives us the ability to hope, fight and pray.
He will give us the strength to get up and go to work when we do not feel like it, to go visit our children in prison and give them the Word, to go somewhere where people want us to fail. He will give us strong courage to stay positive when we are ill.
The Lord knows what we need before we even ask Him. If you put the Kingdom of God first, then all of your needs will be taken care of.
We are able to, relatively easily, put bad days behind us and have confidence in the Lord, knowing that He will renew us.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Ask the Lord to come into your life if you do not know Him. He will renew your strength, daily.
Very inspirational article and a reminder that we have an awesome God who loves and cares for us.
