EMERGENCY UPDATE: The truth about Israel's 1948 War of Independence vs. invading Muslim Armies

The truth about the 1948 Arab-Israeli war is that it turned out to be waged for the purpose of re-establishing and re-populating the Jewish national homeland - a war for independence and for fulfillment of a prophesy straight from Almighty God (Ezekiel 36-37, King James Version):

For I will take your from among the heathen and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land (Ezek. 36:24).

The 1948 Arab-Israeli war was also likely the very first war that the Jewish people had ever fought against an enemy collectively adhering to Islam. This war was the first one in the Israeli-Palestinian beef as well.

Before 1917, Palestine-Israel had been occupied by the Islamic Ottoman Empire. But with help from the United Nations, and especially Great Britain which had overthrown the Ottomans, the Declaration of the Establishment of the State of Israel was proclaimed on 14 May 1948 by its first Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion.

The Arab nation-state military coalition invaded the next day. So, this was indeed a war waged in the Holy Land of Almighty God for the Independence of His people. A war unlike any other that the Jewish people had ever fought.

The Jews had previously fought a war for independence, a revolution, when Judas Maccabeus led an uprising against the Seleucid empire in 167 B.C. But never before had their independence been at stake like it was in 1948. For example, when Israel was conquered by the Babylonians, it was because the Jewish people had incurred the wrath of Almighty God.

But in 1948 the Jews were fighting a war for the right to reestablish their traditional homeland which had just declared independence the day before the war broke out.

The truth about the assault against modern Israel by an Islamic coalition of five nations as soon as was reborn is a story of epic proportions that receives little attention. The fact that Israel came out victorious is on the scale of a miracle straight out of the pages of the Holy Bible.

How did Israel, a tiny new nation handily win a war against all odds versus a coalition of Arab states? By the divine intervention of Almighty God. The Lord God of Israel once again showed His might by giving Israel the victory, plus an expanded territory.

This particular war consequentially created major refugee and territory problems for both Palestinians and Jews. Combined, millions of people either fled voluntarily or were forcibly uprooted. An estimated 700,000 Palestinians and an equally massive number of Jews were dispersed. While Palestinians fled Palestine, there was a Jewish exodus from Europe as well as from predominantly Muslim and Arab countries.

Hundreds of thousands of Jews who lived in Arab-majority states were intimidated into leaving, or were outright expelled from their native countries, most of them eventually reaching Israel where they in effect replaced Palestinians.

The reasons for the Jewish people's flight included Arab national hostility, including pogroms triggered by the war in Palestine. Plus anti-Jewish governmental measures that were pervasive especially in Europe - even in the decades before the Nazis took power.

Four years after WWII that included the Holocaust, the Arab-Israeli war ended in 1949. And, from 1945 to 1952, hundreds of thousands of Jewish displaced persons lived in Europe's refugee camps before immigrating to Israel from places like Romania and Poland.

By 1972, an estimated 800,000 to 1,000,000 Jews had either fled or were expelled from their settlements outside of Israel. It is estimated that some 700,000 Jews ended up in Israel, thereby doubling its Jewish population from what it was in 1948.

The truth is that in this war, the Muslims were the aggressors, as Arab national armies and volunteer militias joined forces to invade the new Israel. The Egyptians, Syrians, Jordanians, Iraqis and military forces from Lebanon surrounded it.

Egyptians advanced from Northeast Africa to Israel's southern Mediterranean Sea coast, but were beat back in the Biblical city of Ashdod. Meanwhile, Syria and Lebanon invaded from the north.

Here is a readily available and true quote from the Bible:

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).

The 1948 Arab invasion turned out to be a catalyst for the rebirth of the new nation of Israel, a place where the true and perfectly Good Lord God Jesus Christ will establish His everlasting kingdom headquartered on the Holy Mountain of Zion.
