Have you ever had one of those days, one of those moments when the Holy Spirit comes upon you out of nowhere? Speaking to you, inaudibly, telling you not to worry about whatever you're going through, saying that the Lord will see you through?
If you have not, then I will give my testimony so you can feel what it is like. I can only speak for those of us who pray every single day, multiple time per day.
The Lord will send the Holy Spirit to comfort you when you are going through something in your life: a trial, tribulation or test, and you are almost reaching the point of not being able to handle the situation.
The Lord will not put more on you than you can handle, the saying goes. That comes from 1 Corinthians 10:13. Here is the New Revised Standard Version:
"No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it."
It was one of them days for me. I was so worried about the next day's and the next week's schedule of events on the job, wondering should I do this, should I be doing that, when I know the Holy Bible says do not worry about tomorrow (Matthew 6:34):
“So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today."
The inaudible Holy Spirit came to me in the form of God the father comforting one of His children:
"My son, do not worry about tomorrow. I, the Lord will see you through."
Sometimes, us Christians tend to forget what the Holy Spirit has said, inaudibly, on a particular day or in a specific time, in leading us past our anxieties.
But this time I felt a warm feeling come over me. I started smiling. And, I knew that is was okay to carry on as usual - to keep on keeping on putting the Kingdom of God as my first priority. I remembered the other times the Holy Spirit comforted me in my particular situation.
Like the Gospel song says, in so many words, "While you are trying to figure it out, Jesus has already worked it out."
God can and will work it out, if we let Him.
I started recollecting all kinds of verses from the Bible that applied to what I was going through. And I felt a sense of joy, peace and love.
I smiled all that night.
I learned how faith can be easily increased, maintained and ingrained: by remembering what the Holy Spirit says to you.
Long live the Holy Spirit.
Long live the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Amen! Thank you Lord for always providing peace, comfort and your presence in time of anxiety.
