Keep A-knocking, But Can't Come In: You Have Not Because You Ask Not, Believe And You Shall Receive

Writer's picture: Reginald SpannReginald Spann

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." (Matthew 7:7)

Believe that you can open that door that the Lord has unlocked for you. Do not be like those who knock, but can't come in because of unbelief.

Whatever the mind can conceive, the body can achieve according to the grace of God.

Pull the door open with the powerful, renewed energy Almighty God grants you. You shall walk and not get weary, run and not get tired. Then, step inside the open door with the boldness that marks our justified righteousness in Christ Jesus.

For the righteous are as bold as lions of Judah. While the wicked flee when no man pursues. (Proverbs 28:1)

Pursue life-saving necessities, and your heartfelt desires, according to God's purpose, like a parent seeks a lost child. Like a shepherd seeks a lost sheep. Look in every nook and cranny. Knock on every door until one of them opens and you find what you sought - gifted by the Father of us all.

"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." (Mark 11:24)

Having faith that the Lord will grant what you pray for is essential to getting God to listen to your prayers.

The Holy Scriptures say that the prayers of the saints, the believers in Jesus Christ, the justified by faith, those who are blessed to be made righteous by the Lord's good pleasure, yes, our prayers are like purified sweet-smelling incense smoke ascending to the Lord our Father.

Do not be afraid to ask God the Father for the essentials of life. You do not have to use sweet-sounding words. Pray to the Lord like an offspring communicates with a listening dad.

Almighty God has it already planned out, while you are trying to figure out how to pay for food, clothing and shelter.

Have no doubt in your salvation.

Ask the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to grant your goal of making it to the Kingdom of Heaven. He will give you Eternal Life, seeing you believe that He will.

"Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."(Psalms 37:4)

What is that you need? What is your heart's desire? What do you want from God?

The Lord truly works miracles.

The Lord knows what you need. And if His children ask of Him, then He will give it to us, according to His will.

As long as it will not be a stumbling block to us, then He will add whatever you ask of Him to your existence. According to the need...the need...the need. He will send that in to your life, so that you do not bear more than you can handle.

If you really, really need a helpmate that will be like a cornerstone, a lively stone and not a stumbling block, a dead brick, then a helpmate shall be granted.

If you as for one million dollars, but the Lord knows you don't need a million dollars, because you really don't know what to do with it, then it shall not be granted.

"You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures." (James 4:3)

But if you are serious, according to His good pleasure, he will grant you one million dollars.

Usually, thought, it is not God's good pleasure to grant riches to those who pray for them.

In Gibeon, an ancient Israelite city north of Jerusalem, the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.

King Solomon did not ask for material things such as greater wealth, chariots of fire, gold, horses that ran like the wind or kingdoms to conquer.

He did, however, ask for sound judgment, so that he could properly lead the nation of Israel like his conqueror dad King David did. The Lord granted Solomon, not only his heart's desire, but also riches and honor - those things he did not request of God.

Keep a-knocking and the Lord will honor you with Eternal Life in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Long live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for us, His sheep of His pasture,

"I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture." (John 10:9)
