Knocking On Heaven's Door: An exhortation for you to keep seeking the Kingdom of God first

Writer: Reginald SpannReginald Spann

Is there truth to the saying, "You keep on knocking but you can't come in?" Maybe there is some truth to that saying in your situation.

But in the beautiful for situation between Almighty God and His children, the saying does not hold heaven's river of the water of life.

If you keep knocking on heaven's door, then the Lord will let you in.

Keep on calling on Him, He will call you back.

Keep on working for Him. He will keep working for you.

It is not a favor for a favor type of thing with God, because we do not deserve His favor. Almighty God, the merciful, the beneficent, is so gracious that He allows us to live in the world He created.

You should give Him thanks, right now, just for that, beloved.

Give thanks because His amazing grace is so strong that some of us fell off into worshiping the creations more than the Creator. People make idols out of anything. The sun, trees, money, cars, clothes...other disobedient people.

We disobeyed not only His first commandment, but some of us went through all 10. And He forgave you and brought you back home as His child.

If you are knocking on Heaven's door, then you have entered in at the strait gate that leads to the Way, the Truth, the Life, the Father's house where there are many mansions.

Wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there be which go that route. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way which leads to eternal life. And the Scripture says few find it - for no man comes to the Father but by way of Jesus.

And some of you chose not to go that route, beloved. You want to go through Buddha, Allah, golden calves, old slew foot, Zeus, Apollo, Athena, Mercury, Jupiter.

God's children find the right way home, even if we get lost, because we know where our Father lives.

Hallowed is His name. His Kingdom come. His will be done on earth as it is where? In heaven.

Keep on knock, knock, knocking on heaven's door.

"I'm gonna knock on your door...rap on your window pane...until you come back to me, that's what I'm gonna do." That's what the song says.

We are not stalkers, we are walkers in the ways of Almighty God - even if sometimes we have walked backwards.

Even if the Lord has put you out for a season, then He still loves you and will let you back in.

Until Jesus returns on Judgement Day, it is never too late to go back to God if you have fallen out of the Father's favor.

The Father will forgive you if you knock on His door.

Thus saith the Lord in Matthew 7:7-11:

7 “Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.

8 For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

The Lord waters the flowers for His children, and causes us to grow from babes and sucklings weaned on the milk of the word, to maturity, the meat of the word, to grow in our salvation.

What do you want out of life? What are your priorities? Do you want cash money, clothes, houses and cars?

Your first priority should be seeking the Kingdom of God, then all things that you need will be added unto you. King David testified that coming up from a youngster to his old age, he had never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.

This is what God, continuing in Matthew:

9 Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for bread, will give a stone?

10 Or if the child asks for a fish, will give a snake?

11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Hallelujah, hosanna in the highest!

Be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.

Keep knocking on heaven's door, you will eventually be let in.

Long live the Kingdom of God!

Long live the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

2 Chronicles 7:14-If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal the land.
