TEL AVIV (CC) - Speaking at the Government Press Office, hours ago, Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister, vowed to relegate Hamas to the dust bin of history.

With full U.S. government support, he compared the Muslim organization to Daesh or the Islamic State group. Both entities are designated as terrorist organizations by the U.S. State Department.

Hamas received the terrorist label in 1997. Daesh is also called ISIS, ISIL or IS. They were designated in 2014.

Vowing Hamas' destruction, in the process of forming an emergency joint government with his political rivals, an emotional Netanyahu spoke with force about the latest Arab-Israeli war.

"We are fighting a cruel enemy, an enemy that is worse than Daesh," he said, speaking in the Hebrew language, while addressing the nation and the world.

His oration came in the aftermath of the now infamous surprise terrorist attack against the Jewish people in Israel last weekend.

"We have seen little children tied up and shot in the head, people burned alive, young girls raped and massacred, fighters beheaded. In one place, they gathered people together, brought tires and petrol and burnt them alive. What horror, what suffering."

Netanyahu then looked the world in the eyes, through the camera lens.

"Any member of Hamas is a dead man," he promised. "Hamas is Daesh. We will crush them and destroy them, as the world has destroyed Daesh."

The Islamic State, in 2015, controlled large swaths of territory, in Syria and Iraq, until being driven out by a coalition of fighters and weaponry from nations including the U.S., Iraq and the U.K.

The group still exists, in some capacity, if not in name only, but are not nearly as powerful as they were at their heights. They were known for beheading Christians in mass public executions.

Now, the Jewish people are, once again, the targets of brutality from an Islamic terrorist organization.

Mr. Netanyahu seems, along with the newly-formed war cabinet, to be determined to end the terror in Israel.

The world is watching, and Christian Commander will be reporting on this ongoing story.
