Nite And Day: Exhortation For Rejoicing In Today, Not Worrying About Tomorrow Or The Near Future

Writer: Reginald SpannReginald Spann

"This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24)

Let me tell you how I feel about the Lord, night and day. I love and appreciate Him more than anything or anyone.

Therefore, I rejoice in the day that He allows me to wake up, open my eyes, meditate, get out bed, get on my knees, praise and thank Him, and speak to Him like a son does to the Father.

I listen to the inaudible Holy Spirit that He sends for comfort and reassurance when His children need it most. When we have no helper other than Him.

I holler out: "Help!" to the Lord. And He is an ever present Spirit, who comes to the rescue each and every time.

When hard times approach, when our parents forsake us, when our friends and family are acting like fools, when evil, angry people do what they do, when they try to force their wickedness on you, then look to the hills from where your help comes.

The Lord is always on time.

Therefore I do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." (Matthew 6:34)

I make a concerted effort not to worry about tomorrow, or the day after that, going forward into the future.

Why?

Because Jah, Jehovah Nissi, will perform miracles in your life when you need them. What ever you need, He already knows, and if you ask Him for it in prayer, then having faith that He will grant your desires, then it shall be done according to His will.

I am too busy rejoicing and thanking the Lord for today.

Do not let anything or anyone ruin your day. Every day is God's gift. We have the choice of rejoicing in the Lord, or letting some evil person bring us down.

Can't nothing bring me down.

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:5)
