Coach Prime, as he is known, Deion Sanders, taking the helm in Boulder as the head coach of the proud Colorado University football team is a testament to the power of Jesus Christ.
Not only is Sanders a devout Christian, he is a father figure to many, many of his players.
As a seasoned NFL Hall of Famer, Sanders is making men out of boys, many of them African Americans, in an era where it is more critically needed than ever.
The Buffs, last season, were truly one of the worst teams in college football history.
Keep in mind that many college players are still kids, not adults, and should not be criticized like adult professionals, in terms of output on the field, at least in my view, even though college athletes are now eligible for NIL deals worth millions.
Former Million-dollar CU head coach Karl Dorrell was fired on October 2, 2022, along with defensive coordinator Chris Wilson, after an 0-5 start. In Dorrell's three years at the helm, the Buffaloes were (8-15, 6-9).
"We will do what is needed to get a winning football team back on this field," Colorado's director of athletics Rick George said. "This place can be and will be a football powerhouse. We have the facilities. We have the location. We have the programs. We have everything that we need to be successful on the football field."
After Dorrell was let go, the school announced offensive coordinator Mike Sanford as interim head coach. The Buffs finished (1-11), beating only California, 20-13 in OT - their first game after Dorrell was shown the door.
The game drew a season-high 50, 471 fans to Boulder's Folsom Field. But.. attendance plummeted after that, as the Buffs continued their losing ways.
So the noted winner, prayer warrior and Field General Sanders was named the head coach on December 3, 2022, one Saturday after the Buffs' last game of the season.
Ticket prices, student enrollment and attendance have all sky-rocketed to Rocky Mountain highs since he arrived.

Mr. Dorrell had been the head coach at UCLA, from 2002 - 2007, where he led the Bruins to five bowl appearances and was the first African American head football coach in their history.
Admirably, he accomplished the rare feat of being named the PAC-12 Coach of the year while a Bruin and a Buffalo, coaching the latter from 2020 - 2022.
He received the COTY award after his Buffs finished the 2020 COVID-impacted season (4-1), Back then it was CU's first winning record since 2016.
Ironically, Dorrel's team defeated UCLA in the season's first game for that Covid year. The contest was played in November due to games being pushed back from the usual early September start of college football.
Colorado lost games by an average margin of 29.1 points last year, the worst margin in the country and the fourth-worst among Power 5 schools since 1993.
Sanders flipped the roster so that only a few scholarship players from the 2022 team remained. He reportedly brought over 80 new players in from all walks of life, including high school, junior college, HBCU's and the SEC.
According to sources, it's the most incoming players to an FBS roster since the inception of the transfer portal in 2018.
Nine or so players came with him from JSU, led by his biological sons Shedeur, Shilo and "honorary son" Travis Henry - the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2022 class.
