That was in the 1980's but the song "Hard Times" applies to right now.
We've seen better days for sure. There are fewer and fewer things for many people to laugh about.
Don't let your afflictions take away your ability to rejoice in the Lord. Laughter is one of the best ways to delight in God's goodness.
"Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, 'The Lord has done great things for them.'” (Psalm 126:2, ESV)
The Book of Romans says all things work together for the good for those who love the Lord. One thing is for sure. If you can laugh at your troubles, then you will always have something good to laugh at.
Whenever you feel like you're under emotional slaughter, remember laughter is free. And you don't have to watch your classmates Tik Tok videos to bust a gut laughing.
“Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.” (Luke 6:21)
Wise words from the Sermon on the Mount.
The Book of Proverbs says trust the Lord and not your own understanding, acknowledge Him in all of your ways, let Him direct your paths, fear Him and depart from evil. If you do, it is health to your navel and marrow to your bones.
Proverbs also says blessed is the man who can laugh at himself, for he will never cease to tickle his own funny bone. I'm joking of course. Anyone who has tickled their funny bone knows there ain't nothing funny about it.
Someone said a good laugh is the best medicine, whether you are sick or not. They must not have ever tasted Father John's cough medicine: the best-tasting medicine ever.

For all of you father's out there, laughter is like changing a baby's diaper - it doesn't permanently solve any problems, but it makes things more acceptable for a few more minutes.
He who lasts laugh didn't get the joke.
