THEBES, Upper Egypt (CC) - Today, the Northeast African Pharoah was mortified by the miraculous and sudden departure of the children of Israel.
Thousands of Hebrew-speaking people who traced their lineage to Abraham fled the nation by miraculously crossing the Red Sea, under the cover of darkness, while the pursuing Egyptians drowned as the sea closed.
Moses, a prophet, and his brother Aaron who served as his spokesman to Pharoah were at the forefront of the Exodus.
Witnesses report that the common refrain from the two men was, "Let my people go."
Pharoah refused to the release the Hebrews from their heavy bondage. Egypt was hit with a series of plagues, or natural disasters, depending on who you ask in this pagan nation.
In recent years, after enjoying a life of comfort in Egypt under the previous Pharoah and Hebrew-Israelite Joseph, second in command, the Israelites were held in heavy bondage by the new Egyptian king.
Moses was said to have raised his staff and watched the Red Sea depart. Witnesses said that it was a miracle performed by the Israelite's God.
None of the Egyptian deities have spiritual powers to perform such miracles, so the Egyptians who remained were understandably traumatized, in shock and wondering what type of God the Hebrews worship.
Dozens of Egyptian families could be seen weeping, gnashing their teeth, covering their heads with ashes, dust and otherwise mourning the massive disaster at the Red Sea.
This has never been seen or heard of in human history, so many are struggling to make sense of it all.
The Israelites, however, were rejoicing after escaping utter slavery in Egypt. Still heading West, they could be seen being led by what they call the Ark of the Covenant, and encamping in the Arabian wilderness near Mount Sinai.
Again, reliable sources confirm that the pursuing Egyptians were drowned as the sea closed after the Israelites made it safely across into Arabia.
